FIB SE orientation contrast is excellent for cubic metals, but less pronounced for hexagonal metals such as this Zr-Nb alloy. Fibics has experimented with FIB gas chemistries to greatly enhance orientation contrast during imaging. Fibics also has extensive experience working with the Canadian nuclear industry on FIB-TEM of Zr-based alloys.
